Does anyone have any idea when Chicago will be hiring or handing out applications? I apologize in advance if it was addressed in a prior post. I wanna apply there but this is getting crazy. Thanks guys!

I PERSONALLY asked the Deputy Superintendant at CPD's Metro academy during a speech he gave our class, & he even said he had NO clue.

How many people would you guys estimate are ready to be hired?

If Chicago is going to limit themselves to hiring less than 100 every year, hell, they might not need a test again until 2012 (or beyond).

They probably won't have another test until they need one.

Some cops say they are shorthanded. I would assume that opinions can vary widely.

But either way it seems suspicious to me that they could go so long without one.

Feb will make it 4 years since the first round of 2006 tests...we hired, maybe, 500 in 07 (8 classes of approx 50 plus recruits), 150 or so in 08, and the whopping 46 in 09, so about 700 hired off the 6000 or so that passed the 06 tests. So Sad, I'll have almost 3 years on the job and I'm damn near dead last on senority

I am NOT being a smart *** whn I ask this in response to your post....
Do you think that there were that many who passed ALL stages of testing??? I though many would get eliminated by drug/medical/psych and background......

Actually, I do have a juicy rumor that I just heard today. I was talking to one of the officers CPD is training to administer polygraphs. He said he was told they would be having a new test in the fall of '09 or spring of '10, but taking into account "city time", that it would probably be spring or summer of '10.

Spring of 2010 seems unthinkable considering how many 2006 testers are still waiting, but maybe they're considering a mass-hiring?

My best guess, out of the ones already hired, minus the ones who failed, minus the ones who just flat out deceided to go a different direction, there are at least 1500-2000 left. Best guess
