Watched it on the news last night. They said they caught the suspects. They found a car about a block from the shooting and then found the suspects 1 block from the vehicle in the suspect's home.

            What idiots.

In the vehicle was possible the murder weapon with more guns.

I just saw on the state of Illinois website that all flags will be flown at half staff for Officer Valdez. While this is a great gesture let us not forget another officer slain this week in the line of duty. Centreville, IL (metro St. Louis area) police lieutenant Gregory Jonas was executed in the middle of the night while patrolling a rough apartment complex. Jonas was a 20+ year law enforcement veteran who was approaching retirement. I urge the state to fly flags at half staff for both officers killed.

I am not sure why the state has chosen to value and honor one officer's life over the other as both worked in the state of Illinois and both were shot to death on duty. Neither officer is more nor less important than the other; both were serving their respective communities and both paid the ultimate price. I for one will be wearing my mourning band honoring the memories of both Officer Valdez and Lieutenant Jonas.

May they Rest In Peace and watch over us all.

Rest in peace, brothers (Ofc. Valdez and Lt. Jonas). May God be with your families and bring comfort to them. Thank you for your sacrifice.
