No, you get hired by a PD, then they send you to the Academy. They pay you your salary while you are there. You cannot self-sponsor yourself without being hired by a PD. You were able to self-sponsor a couple of years ago, but it only lasted for a couple of classes..

yes... u get paid. the first day u start the academy, is ur hire start date. it's also the day ur probation starts.
