  • Nipsta?

I was passing through The Glen today and saw Northeastern Public Safety Training Academy. Anyone know what that is, or been to it?

The Glen as in that shopping center in Glenview? It is a police training center used for a lot of traffic accident scenarios and re-enactment junk. It is on an old Air Guard (possibly) base. I believe fire fighters use it as well. Oakton community college is granted permission to use it for a couple classes too.

Its an old Navy base, and yes the fire department use it too. I used to drive down Shermer near Willow all the time, and were squads from many many different villages driving through there all the time.

I know this thread is old but I decided to post here. They are now doing the POWER test for departments. I'm assuming that if you take and pass it, it's good for so long and you can use it at departments that use NIPSTA. So far only 8 departments are using it.

          Here is a link... http://www.nipsta.org/POWER/CandidateInformation.aspx

After further review, this link answers my question/statement above. http://www.nipsta.org/Power/document...R_Test_FAQ.pdf
