    Police Officers Prayer

Lord, please guide me to where I’m needed
and provide me with the power to make a difference.

I ask that you comfort me,
Comfort me when I must hold a lifeless child,
Comfort me when I am brought to tragic scenes,
Comfort me when I must tell others that their loved ones
    are not returning home.

Lord, I ask for your strength,
Strength to deal with the unknown…
Strength to know that I have done everything possible…
Strength to know that I have made the right decision

    Please provide me with courage,
Courage to save those that can be saved,
Courage to let go of those that cannot.

    Through all of this Lord,
Please stand by me to guide my hand,
To have your strength and courage,
And to do as you command.
    Amen

Lord God, let me never forget that the police officer
stands watch between the powers of hell and your
people. Strengthen my sense of courage, duty and
humor during this tour, keep me safe in body and spirt,
and bring me home safely... Amen.

Lord, please give me the endurance to tolerate these stupid prayers, in all there extremely corny variations, that I have been subjected to the last 11 years of my career. Amen

I see somebody's not really religious. You'll need it on this job.

I would like to add that no-one forced him to open the thread and read it...unless of course he had some interest!
