Can a former officer who is POST certified in good standings with POST. Who is not employed by an agency and not retired by POST standards works in a generic police shirt or one that says certified peace officer and works security/ traffic type job. If not where can that be found? I have searched the POST act and can't find anything definitive.

"Georgia Code
TITLE 16 - CRIMES AND OFFENSES
CHAPTER 10 - OFFENSES AGAINST PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION
ARTICLE 2 - OBSTRUCTION OF PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION AND RELATED OFFENSES
§ 16-10-23 - Impersonating a public officer or employee
O.C.G.A. 16-10-23 (2010)
16-10-23. Impersonating a public officer or employee
A person who falsely holds himself out as a peace officer or other public officer or employee with intent to mislead another into believing that he is actually such officer commits the offense of impersonating an officer and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine of not more than $1,000.00 or by imprisonment for not less than one nor more than five years, or both."
Looks like a felony to me. 5 years on prison, and then living the rest of your life as a second class citizen, losing your second amendment rights, never being allowed to be a police officer, and never being allowed to vote.
I wouldn't...

I am clear on OCGA. The definition of peace officer is more so what I was questioning. Being POST certified as a Peace officer gives some the belief that they can work part times and that they are Peace officers. I am seeking others views on the definition or interpretation of the definition found in Title 35 Chapter 8

As a matter of timeframing, it's probably impersonation if you're not currently an officer at the time. Same idea as a trespass case where someone at one point had a license to enter but then returns when that permission has ended. I wouldn't do it. Not your lawyer and not giving you legal advice.

Yea, he's really something!
I've seen many of his impersonation videos and arrests, I had to watch the Dr Phil episode that he was on too.
Thinking about him actually having Any type of arrest authority is scary,.....

There are web sites and YouTube channels devoted to his delusions. You can even buy T-shirts about him.
Word is, his whole operation is funded with the proceeds from a legal settlement from a car crash, plus money from his Muslim wife's family- there's no way that a funeral escort here and there pays for all that [email protected]
