GA Out of State Transfer

Anybody have insight on GA departments that hire out-of-state LEOs? Whether self-sponsored through supplemental academy or not.

Interested in a department that appreciates proactive police work and cops can be cops.

Currently a close to two year officer in Florida looking for new scenery. All info appreciated, especially if anyone has recently gone through this process.

Almost every police department in Georgia will hire a certified applicant. The exceptions are the big departments around Metro Atlanta. They often require an applicant to attend their police academy.

You won’t be able to lateral. You’ll either have to take GA Post Exam or repeat academy.
