  • Is it possible to still “police” in Metro GA?

Are there any Metro Atlanta agencies weather City, County S.O of County PD that will let you police the way you want to police? Run traffic, get out with shady subjects, patrol rough areas, and so forth. I just want to work and not a have ‘point system’ per say like APD has. A department where if stuff goes down, they will have your back through and through.

I’ve heard of Clayton County PD, Newton County, and Forsyth being ones of those. I’m not blind though and understand that a lot of departments are short therefore they are just doing calls for service all **** long.

In Richmond County you can still run and gun. You still have to answer calls but everything else is what you make of it.

Newton, Forsyth, rockdale...I’d say that’s about it.

Clayton County PD was like that when I worked there. Fulton County PD is as well and provides a nice playground where you answer few calls, and chase all the perps you want.

From what I read on this forum you may get more points for tickets than you do felony arrests?
