Any troopers on here with insight on why? I know the hiring process gets a lot of people but dang only 20?

Current LE climate turns people off to applying these days. Our low pay and no retirement turns those who are qualified away. Our strict hiring standards weeds through our applicant pool and were left with whatever makes it to end.

I hear that GA DPS has one hell of a selection process. I hope that someday soon they can get their retirement situation up to par with others. i see that the salary is growing, but it is certainly not where it should be.

Dang, they got that far in the process yet still so far away from graduation. They basically let the instructors get into their heads causing them to quit.

On average, what's the amount of running you do while you're there at gsptc?

A **** load

I think the perimeter is just shy of 3 miles, you'll do it everyday before you PT and during the day for ST.

Towards the end you'll run in armor and your gas mask or you'll do an Indian run with the water cooler. If you get in trouble they will park the bus and make you run from the main building over to firearms or driving and back for chow in duty gear with your equipment bag.

I'm running a little over 3 miles a day currently, I absolutely need to step it up.

I've heard they want to run 100 cadets the next two schools but the way things are going I doubt they'll get half that much.

Dang. I sent my compass results in for the POST entrance qualifications, so for now I'm just sitting here for the next step.

Should I go ahead and make a POST app or will they tell you to do so?
