COBB COUNTY, Ga. —
Cobb County commissioners voted unanimously in favor of a new budget that includes a plan to enhance the police force.
Cobb County Public Safety Director Sam Heaton says supporting the budget shows a commitment to public safety.
Under the new budget, the county has approved hiring additional police officers to transition into 10-hour shifts. It allows for a take-home car program.
Channel 2’s Jade Hernandez says officers will begin to see differential pay at the beginning of next year.
