New Cobb County PD Lateral Entry policy

Did I read this correctly? has CCPD changed their lateral entry policy so that an certified officer w/ 2years minimum doesn't have to attend the academy anymore, period? It states you will still have to have 50 hours of training but those are classes you will attend while working even after solo status.
I guess they have to change it since other departments around them do not require any additional academy time and the pay and incentives are MUCH better.

Still only applies to GA officers right? Out of staters would still need to do everything from scratch?

I'm not sure. I would assume certified officers from another state would probably have to go through the entire academy. Cobb PD is a good department with a good reputation but lots of officers are leaving and the flow of applicants are low because of politics within the county according to a Cobb officer I spoke with a few times.

The State has an abbreviated POST certification for out of staters. Im sure Cobb County would offer something similiar.

You must take their academy. I'm two years on in Indiana and sent an email as I want to relocate; was told this new lateral policy only applies in terms of pay.
