I was in the running for a spot with the Marta Police Department and the polygraph got me... this sucks i gave those guys full disclosure of everything in my life...i told them i have no reason to lie and i got alot riding on this job because i was trying to move to Ga from out of state...

the process seems easier than Apd though... i hope i can catch a break...

What exactly caused you to fail the poly, did they tell you?

he asked me if i ever sold drugs before and i replied "No" which is the truth...
he said through the polygraph i showed nervousness...there was another question asking if i did anything illegal other than what we spoke about... i said "No" and passed that question...

That's odd, I have never taken a polygraph before so I have no idea of the kind of pressure if any I would feel. I would hate to fail not b/c I lied, but b/c I got nervous. Thanks for the info, I hope things go better for you the next time around.

thank you sir... it was my first time taking a polygraph test. you dont have to take those (polygraph test) up here in this area. and it sucks because if these things dont hold up in a court of law why is it so serious for the hiring process for these southern police departments?

The way I look at it, if that's what I have to do to get the job bring it on...

Oh, and becareful what you say about those departments, some of the sworn officers who have passed those test may get offened and have some not so nice things to say to you.

Does the Marta Police Department still utilize the polygraph?

It is no longer noted on the job vacancy listing.

Also, does anyone know the pay for Senior Officer? Website says up to $27 per hour. If you have 2 years experience how do you know what you start at?
