Atl PD/Credit

Currently applying with Atlanta Police Dept..I have some accounts that are in that are in collections..Does anybody know how strict Atl is when it comes to checking credit?

I would try to get them out of collections if you can, it looks more favorable! Some departments will look to see that you're making an effort in paying them back and not hold it against you too much.

Call them and set up payment arrangements and see if they will send you a letter stating that that has been done.

About $12,000 roughly. I filled out the long, long application & like a week later got a letter saying too much debt.
