    Wannabe military.

Half *** formations in the morning. Required to stand at your chairs and be told when to sit. No food or drinks in the classroom not even in your personal bag. Wannabe.

I see, sounds good. So is it more of a military type academy or college-type?

It's nearly all book work. Read the POST manual at least twice and you'll pass with ease.

I went to a different academy but they are all about the same. Seams like they are competing with other academies by seeing how military they can push the limits. Which annoyed the **** out of me. If your fat *** doesn't even know how to call a salute or which hand is on the small of the back at parade rest then STFU. Also didn't care much about being forced to stay after class without pay so some fat non exercising cadets could run a whole mile or two and act as if they just did something amazing. Guess what it takes about 45 minutes of cardio activity before the body starts to adapt.

southga, thanks for the reply. Do they give a test every week? Also, is the academy more classroom or outside training based?

Graduated from class 220 at Tifton. There is not a lot of PT. Run 1-2 miles M,W,F, Calisthenics T,R. There are generally two classes at the same time starting with about 25-30 people per class. You spend as much time as is required on each subject. GA law is 2 or 3 days, procedure is 2 or 3 days. Evoc is 3 days. Firearms is a week. Defensive tactics is spreadover the academy. Many classes are only 1 day worth, so you move on to another topic the next day. The schedule just depends on when they book the range or Forsyth and instructors from the field.

    Any other questions feel free.

    GA Post & Academy question?

Hey guys, has anyone here been through the Tifton, GA Police Academy? If so, how is it? Is there a lot of PT? How many people are usually in a class? Also, concerning the Georgia Post classes, do you typically spend a week on each subject, like do you do criminal/civil laws for a week? And then the second week you do defensive tactics? Or do you cover something different each day? Thanks for your time.
