How you doing? Have seen you around here for awhile.

Much better now that the gat just had a baby gat. Went to the show this weekend and picked up some ammo before Obama takes it all away and it was just calling my name so I took it home. Now to the range for some stress relief. Hope all is well.

Yup - It has all my information dating back to 2000 - along with all the training, other certifications, and my old department hire and exit dates. I knew about the site but my point is that I did not start mandate until after I left my agency and went as a preservice and have not started with a new agency yet. Therefore wondering why the certification was issued. I am not complaining, just surprised and happy. Now I know I will never have to go through Mandate again, unless I go with an agency who makes me do theirs anyway!!

You get a PBLE number if your post certified. It shouldn't matter if your employed by someone or not. Check POST's website. You can enter SSN/DOB and see what post has on file for you. It is just a web query.

You are not supposed to receive a PBLE number until you are employed with an agency. If you complete mandate you will receive your PBLE when an agency submits a request to POST for it. Therefore you are not technically certified until you are employed as a police officer. I believe the individuals who stated that they received theirs prior to being hired, got lucky, and its to their advantage.

Thanks for the reply. As it was explained to me by POST, when you complete Mandate, you are NOT certified. You are only considered certified when a department completes and submits a certification application. They went on to explain that you have three years from mandate graduation to be hired by a department to apply for certification before you have to attend mandate again. Once you have your ceritification, it is good forever unless revoked.

I am guessing that either on of the following scenarios has happened

# 1 - The person at POST gave incorrect information (imagine that!!)

# 2 - The rules have changed from when it was explained to me a year ago

# 3 - Was thinking maybe fell through the cracks but when I heard this happened to others now think # 1 or # 2 are better options.

In any event, glad I now have the number as it will hopefully help the application process.

I graduated in November 2008 and my PBLE from POST showed up yesterday. I applied with an agency in November and then I withdrew my application just prior to completion of the hiring process.

I was told at graduation the PBLE would show up months after I was employed with an agency. Something must have changed, or we slipped in the back door.

I'll let you know when the check shows up in the mail box!

When I graduated as a pre-service last year, I was told that I would not be issued a PBLE number until I was hired by an agency. I had an application in at an agency and completed the process but have not heard anything in almost a year. All of the sudden, a packet from POST shows up with my PBLE info, certificate etc...

Has something changed where they are now issuing PBLE numbers to mandated but not hired people or maybe I am hired, working, and not even know it? Maybe someone stole my identity
