I don’t work for the agency so this is merely speculation but I believe they’ve broken down everyone into different groups. As in first, second, third choice. I believe the reason you all haven’t received a response yet is because they’re waiting to see if anybody fails background or psych. That way they can move down the line to the next candidate. That’s my opinion on the matter.

I didn't mean to imply the classes would run simultaneously, what I heard was very similar to what you described. I know the current class graduates in October. So, the next class would start shortly after(January) and another right behind it (Hopefully, for those that are still waiting)

I was just going to say based on my calculations they should be graduating in October. So that has the academy empty theoretically for 2 months

Hey everyone, new here and also an applicant. I called the academy yesterday and they said they are separating people into groups due to a limited amount of background investigators and by priority. She said the first group of emails have been sent out so I’m almost certain those of us that haven’t received a call or email are waiting for people from the first batch to either fail the psych or the background to call people from the second group. I’m hoping they have prior LEO who are still certified in a different group. My Cert is still valid, I worked for a local sheriffs office in central Florida. I am also a Marine Corps veteran with 2 bachelors degrees. Im really hoping I made the cut. I had a 6:30* PAT time or so and I thought I answered all the interview questions right.

Yeah I was thinking the same cause I’m in the exact situation as you except different branch and only 1 bachelors lol. But hopefully we hear something soon

Yeah I was told the same. My recruiter told me to call him at 4 weeks. But I heard back on the 2nd week. We all just have to be patient. It’s a very competitive and long process but it will all be worth it in the end.

Just out of curiosity, how often is everyone talking to a recruiter? I reached out to one awhile back and I got a lot of my questions answered. I asked about ride alongs, but was told they were suspended because of Covid. In January I received an email about the process opening back up in. But, I never heard back from them again.

I was talking to mine on a weekly basis for a couple of months before the interview. Haven't been able to get in touch since the interview though.

I just got off the phone with Gabby.
she said folks were split up into different groups and they are still sorting. Some people have started continue the process but they will be sending out /letters or emails to everyone sometime hopefully by the end of this week telling you of your status. She told me she couldn’t reveal too much. I didn’t get much info out of her. Others should call too and see what she tells you.

That’s exactly what they want to hear plus once you do your 1 year probation period you can transfer anywhere that has an opening. I’ve lived in palm beach my whole life but didn’t request it. Until I found out they have vacancies to fill here I had them add it in. Only makes sense to work in the county I was raised in than them to put Billy Bob here that has no experience in palm beach

she said…..
. They were very overwhelmed with the amount of applicants.
. They have letters typed up and they will be emailing them hopefully by Friday to let everyone know where they are at In the process or if they have been dropped from the process.
. IF YOU ARE CERTIFIED, they have already started your background checks. They however are waiting closer to break out to deal with us so they can get the academy guys in.

SaltyDog I'm in a few other processes with other agencies as well.. I really want the FWC to be the one so I'm sticking it out. Hopefully when I finally am contacted it's good news and not bad. This week will be our 6th week since our interviews... some news would really be good to hear in the next few days.

Just got my letter as well. It said I’m being put into the second round of applications and that my application is good until June, if they decide to run another academy before then, they’ll put the second round through. I’m still going to reapply just in case.

To everyone that isn’t moving on use this time to start preparing for the next interview. The interview is the only part of this process that really matters. It’s the most important part.
