I thought the same, but i guess they want to get it out of the way first and then the pat.

Hey, So I have heard some chatter that due to not hiring for over a year. They are on a time crunch to get through this process for a January academy so everything will be a little fast tracked.

SaltyDog I too just received an email in regards to the PAT and Interview
-
SaltyDog did you get a link to sign up for your PAT and interview? or is that supposed to come at a later date. Sometime soon I hope.
-
Trueblue98 I haven’t received said email yet to schedule PAT or interview

Hello everyone, I had a question and was wondering if ya'll could help. For the credit history needed is there a place you can get one emailed to you? I can get it online but I feel like they won't want a screenshot of the report. My only other option is to wait for a hard copy to be mailed to me so I can scan it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks and good luck to everyone!

I’m not gonna call this test a breeze by any means but I wish they would’ve kept the Cooper test around. Anyone in decent shape can pass this test with minutes to spare. Their is a video of a candidate in okay shape on YouTube completing the test in 06:30 +/- before they added the ropes. If any of you aren’t incorporating shoulder exercises into your regiment I highly suggest it because pulling that sled back to the starting position after the ropes will destroy your shoulders.

No SaltyDog m-f I swim a quarter mile in the morning then after work I run then go to crossfit gym I only run course on saturday
-
ChristianAB98 okay cool sounds like a good regiment. What stroke are you swimming with?
-
SaltyDog I typically will swim breast stroke because it exerts the least amount of energy for me

SaltyDog I got you. If you receive yours please do the same for me. Hope to see you there, we got this brother.

Trueblue98 I appreciate it. Cutting it close but I have to be in the Bahamas the week before the PAT for work and things don’t always go to plan when working in another country. Ideally I want to make my appointment for the first day that way I catch the officers conducting the interview on a fresh start versus being sick and tired of candidates on the last day. I’ll definitely let the forum know when I receive the next email
-
I'm pretty active on this forum. As soon as I get something, I'll be sure to post

Hey Guys,
They just opened up the next application process. If you want to double down, you may want to put your application in. It closes in November.

Just an update fellas. I received an email with a "Waiver of Liability" and "The Physician’s Clearance to Test Form" to be completed and provided at PAT testing. Other than that, so far no email with a link to schedule to test itself. SaltyDog

I would like to not be on the first day, but I have to fly down. So, I guess airfare will help me decide!
-
I think I am going to go first day. Just so that I can get it over with. Has anyone been able to get a ride along ?? SaltyDog Trueblue98 WheelBoss71
-
ChristianAB98 I haven’t tried to be honest because I know they’ve limited all applicants to 1 ride along. We used to be allowed up to 3 and each ride along was worth points towards your final app score. I know what a typical day is like for a FWC officer so I didn’t see the need to schedule one but I will say this if you were to accompany a officer that was willing to answer some of your questions now that would be useful.

Hey guys, this is my first post also, I was finally approved to comment.
I am a Prior LEO, (currently Certified) and Marine Corps Vet.
Is anyone else already certified? If so, you do not have to get Tased and OC sprayed.
I am wondering when you all with start the academy, because I will be joining you guys after for agency specific training.
I have not been able to do a ride along due to COVID.
I called and spoke with Gabby at the academy and she said they will be posting dates, to sign up for the PAT once the Captain approves the dates.
What counties are you guys trying to work in?

My number one is volusia county since that’s where I live. The academy is fun. There’s a website out there to help you guys study for the cert exam as well.
-
To my understanding if you earned your LEO certification in the state of Florida you shouldn't have to redo Taser and OC. If it was out of state, you may have to. Had a buddy transfer law enforcement positions from Florida to Indiana and they made him go through it again.
I'm looking to work in Alachua or one of the surrounding counties.

I second this... how did you sign up already? Did you receive an email to register and schedule? The rest of us got emails saying it wouldn't be till next week.
-
Hey guys,
Ok so the swim and Pat are at FSU.
Interview is in Havana. There is a address at FSU with the same address as the Havana address.
I’m not sure why I was able to sign up already. It might be because I’m certified already, not sure.
I received an email to schedule the PAT.
I also received an email like you all saying there will be more info next week.
If you guys have any questions about interviews or what not feel free to ask if you have never been to one.Last edited by Setj3860311; 07-02-2021, 10:28 PM.
