See this is why I was confused salty dog so there is something to be confused about because people that have failed for some reason say they already know they aren’t moving forward yet this email for gabriel says something different “Good Afternoon,

You will not know your results of the Psych Eval nor the background investigation results. You will be notified if you will or will not be moving on in the hiring process. Like stated previously, we are working diligently to get everyone scheduled for their Psych and getting documentation together for the next phase. Thank you for your patience

I understand that but if we pass the background/psych they aren’t going to come out and say it. No different then them telling us we were moving on from interview. They just give you information to complete the next phase. But if you fail they tell you promptly. If we would’ve failed why would they make us wait 5 weeks as of now… also you need to learn to reply properly lol

How am I or anyone on the forum supposed to know how you replied to Gabby..I’m referring to how you reply to someone’s comment instead of actually replying underneath the comment you want to respond to. You’re creating a whole new comment making the forum 2x longer than it should be. It’s a pretty cut and dry website to use.

So I heard from my background investigator. He told me I was right not giving psych my VA information. He said I’m still in the process. What was everyone’s rankings? I was 21. He said he didn’t know how many people they were hiring this cycle either.

How was it modified? Did something pop up or did it just tell you last viewed date. I logged into mine after seeing your comment and my application still says "In process" or "pending", something along those lines. With the last viewed date by the agency being 9/8 or something like that.

My recruiter told me to give him a call on 10/7 because they’re having a commission meeting. I also think the current class is close to graduating. So maybe after they graduate they’ll get the ball rolling

I’m pretty certain the only reason we haven’t heard is because their looking to fill required number off applicants for academy. Once they do then we will hear something. I have a feeling Mhenry is right about end of October it would make sense with a beginning of January start date. We have completed all of the hard parts of the process

Well, I received my letter saying I’ve been removed from the hiring process. I called and spoke with the captain and he told me it’s because I denied psych access to my VA medical history.

oh well on to bigger and better things. It’s funny FWC’s Psych requires this but the FBI doesn’t. I’m in my last phase of processing with them. Wish me luck!

also those of you who get hired look into the pension with FRS instead of 401K.
3% for 30 years = 90% pay of your top 8 high years.

Overtime goes into your pension, off duty details do not.

if you do pension you can also do a 401K on your own and dump your off duty details into it.

So I spoke with my BI yesterday, everyone who's still in background those investigations are being wrapped up and he confirmed that their due date for having those submitted was end of the month.

Unfortunately, I have another final, solid offer from another agency on the table and their academy is slated to start 10/18. After talking with my background we both agreed that it would be better to have him let the hiring team know that I'm accepting the first offer I was given.

As much as I'd like to hold out for FWC and enroll in the January academy with y'all, I can't justify turning down a solid job offer for one that is still a maybe. Didn't want to keep my name in the running until the last part of the process only to get an offer and have to turn it down; thought that would be unfair of me to take that spot away from someone that might have been close but got sent the rejection letter because they gave me a spot instead. After he communicates that to his higher-ups I'll likely be getting my "removed from the hiring process" notification too.

Hope the rest of y'all make it through and enjoy FWC! Good thing is is that if I still want to reapply in a couple years and pursue the game warden route (my contract with the local agency is a 2 year one since they're sponsoring me throught the academy) the BI then can pickup right where this one left off and hopefully fast track my app a bit. Figure if I made it this far this year, my application 2 years from now willl only be more competitive with law enforcement experience under my belt.

That’s awesome. Definitely don’t risk turning down that final offer! I definitely think your BI is right on the end of the month at this point. Medical is something that wouldn’t take us long to complete and easy for them to process so who knows when they’ll let us know by.

Atleast 2, that is if you can schedule your finger prints, medical, and drug screen on the same day. The reason I say 2 is because you have to take a TB skin test which requires a visit back to the doctor 48 hours after the administration of the test.

Mailed my medical paperwork on 10/23/21. Psych is done, Background is almost complete from what I gathered. Just waiting to hear from them now.

For whoever still needs to complete medical, get started on it as soon as they email you the paperwork. You may have to go to 3-4 different locations to get the fingerprint, drug screen, eye exam, and full physical done. Plus going back to the Dr. after 48 hours for the results of the TB skin test. For the full physical you will have to get bloodwork, EKG, and Urinalysis done as well, as they are all on the forms to fill out. You only have 2 weeks to complete everything, so try and get each one scheduled for the soonest they have available.

That would be a correct assumption. I’m certain as long as you all pass medical you are in. In a way your 2nd conditional is a final offer in my opinion. Those getting sent to medical are those they want in the academy
