  • South Florida Agencies

Anyone on here personally familiar with South Florida Agencies in regard to morale, allowance of proactivity, average manpower, how often are OT opportunities (3rd party or in house), etc?

Specifically Miami Gardens PD, Sunrise PD, Lauderhill PD, and Hallandale Beach (outside of whats in the media).

Any info is appreciated below or PM

Those 4 you listed are very different agencies. Miami Gardens and Lauderhill are similar. Pretty much every agency is hiring, so that shouldn't be too much of an issue. Sunrise, Lauderhill, and Hallandale are in Broward County, while Miami Gardens is Dade County. Miami Gardens and Lauderhill are high crime, so you will be busy. Hallandale is fairly busy as well. It is the smallest agency of the 4 you mentioned. Sunrise is a mix. Busy on the east side, slower on the west.

If someone was toying with the idea of relocating to florida and didn't care where they ended up and just wanted to get their foot in the door. Which department would you recommend that's easier to get on with?

Yeah I’m aware that they’re different man. That’s why I was asking for anyone with person knowledge of those listed to chime in and drop their two cents. Thanks though!
