No you do not need a 4 yr degree to work for Boca, that's Coral Springs PD that requires a 4 yr. You need at least 60 credits (which is basically an Associates Degree) which it seems you have, so you're fine. I work for Boca and it is a great dept. to work for. The other's you mentioned are very good as well though, can't really go wrong. We are not on a hiring freeze at the moment so if you decided to, you should apply. I know we just hired a few more people recently, so give it a try. If you have any questions, let me know. Good luck to you.

Right now a lot of departments in Florida are on a temp. freeze due to the property tax legislation. I think you need a 4 yr degree with Boca. It really depends on WHAT you want to do with your career. PBSO will have the most opportunity for advancement and speciality units. I think Boca pays the most of the dept's you mentioned.

West Palm Beach, Delray, Boca etc
What would you say my chances of getting hired by these departments are?
My 1st choices are obviously WPB and PBCSO.
I have a associates degree in CJ.
30 credits shy of a BA.
Part Time/Intermittent Police Academy in MA.
3 Years of Loss Prevention/Assets Protection experience.
Just tired of the civil service BS....and I'm at the tip of my fingers to moving down to WPB area.Tags: None
