  • Does anyone know what departments are hiring in Florida

I''m looking into Port St.Lucie, anyone know anything about that department as far as its recruiting goes?...I'm 25yo minority female with a bachelors and a semester into my masters. I'm certified in my state and have been for a few years. So if anyone can give me anything as far as who is recruiting (and I'm looking for a department that doesnt take 5months to process)..Any Department in Florida not just Port St.lucie.

    they are all hiring

5 months for a back ground check may be normal,

nothing is quick, hurry up and wait

Pretty much anywhere in South West Florida is hiring. Because you are certified in another state, you will probably be able to qualify for the equivalncy of training(EOT) course. It is a 10 day course that deals with the 4 high liabilities in law enforcement. A lot of agencies will pay for you to take this course as well. Once ou complete the course and pass the state final, you will be certified in the state of Florida. Having your bachelors will help your chances even more. If you want to know more agencies in South West Florida, PM me and I'll be glad to share what I know with you.

Everyone is hiring. As long as you have 1+ years experience you can do EOT like Skibum said. And most departments from Central Florida and south are hiring, obviously the fact that you're a minority female with experience and a 4 year helps. And yeah, most departments will take 5 months from 1st test until 1st day.
