      Well, I had that same question about 3 days ago, so, being the nerd that I am, I put together a tentative checklist. Here is what I have so far.

      Contacts:

      MARY MITCHELL Human RFesources

      -DET. RICK LEWIS 813 247 8072 (call anytime with questions)

      -DET. FITZGERALD IS MY CONTACT (he manages my last name category)

      Step 1:
      -GATHER INFORMATION:

      -SOCIAL SECURITY CARD
      -BIRTH CERT
      -DD214
      -DRIVERS LICENSE
      -TRANSCRIPTS FROM USF AND LGHS


      Step 2:
      -TAKE INFO TO LOCATION:
      -2008 EAST 8TH AVE (YBOR) TAMPA FLORIDA 33605

      -ONCE THEY RECEIVE INFO, THEY GIVE YOU A PIN NUMBER
      -USE PIN TO APPLY ONLINE
      -ONCE APPLICATION IS SUBMITTED AND REVIEWED THEY CALL FOR INTERVIEW

      Step 3:
      -INTERVIEW
      -IF YOU PASS INTERVIEW, THEY ASSIGN DATE FOR POLYGRAPH
      -UNKNOWN FROM HERE

      -PHYSICAL ABILITIES ASSESSMENT:
      -1.5 MILE (no time limit but if you can do it IN 12 MINUTES, you are competitive)
      -MAXIMUM PUSH UPS IN 1 MINUTE
      -MAXIMUM SIT UPS IN 1 MINUTE
      -100 YARD SWIM IN MINIMUM TIME

      Hope this helps a bit. Looks like we are both at the early stages of the process. Good luck, maybe we'll both get it and go through academy together. Stranger things have happened.
