Anybody else in the process with Riviera Beach PD?

I am. I sent in my application about two weeks ago. I have not heard back from them.

Good stuff, are you certified or non certified?

I'm auxiliary certified. Have 12 years certified in FL but that cert expired.

I'm not familiar with auxiliary, is that for reserves? I applied back in March of 2016 didn't get a call back till June. First step is you take a 100 question legal test and a timed oral interview.

I'm an Auxiliary Trooper. Its a 319 hour academy. Its sworn but I can only take police action when directed by a full time trooper. Reserves have completed a full time academy and take take action on their own.

I wish I would have never let my full time certification expire, but if you told me back in 2001 that I'd be getting back into law enforcement when I turned 50, I would have questioned your sanity. Now I question mine. lol

I have heard that I can take some sort of cross over or addition academy time to become fully certified.

Ah ok, yes you should be able to take the cross over academy its only a month or 2 long, if I remember correctly. When I was in the academy there were a few people doing a cross over and one of the guys was auxiliary certified.
