There are two degrees of Misdemeanors in that State of Florida. 1st degree and 2nd degree. 1st degree are punishable by a maximum of 1 year in jail and a $1000.00 fine. 2nd degree misdemeanors are punishable by a maximum of 60 days in jail and a $500.00 fine. There are five degrees of Felonies. Capital Felony (Punishable by Death), Life Felony (Life sentence and $15,000 fine), 1st degree (30 years max and $10,000 fine), 2nd degree (15 years max and 10,000 fine), 3rd degree (5 years max and $5000.00 fine). That's your answer.

    Really

I would encourage you to look at the difference in penalties.
