Out of State officer going to Chipola EOT in June this year. Does anyone have any insights into the daily routine there? Which hotels are the best to stay at while at the training? Any insights are much appreciated. Thanks!!

They have a contract with a hotel there for a decent rate (I want to say it was 52 a night). You will have class during the day, and optional study sessions after the first few days for the state exam that go until about 8. On your range days you will start later because you have to do some night shooting and some night driving.

Thanks for the replies. What is the DT consist of?? Do they give a review or jump into testing? Handcuffing techniques are not a big deal, but after being out of the academy for 13 years it will be hard to remember proper pressure point locations and escort holds, that kind of stuff. I am hoping that they will give us a demonstration and allow us old timers to knock the rust off. Thanks again for your posts!!

They demonstrate everything and give you a chance to practice before asking you to demonstrate. We had guys in my class that had been 20 years out of the academy (and a wide variety of experience levels), and the staff knows this. They go through everything with you to make sure you are clear on what is specifically allowed by FDLE standards and what you are expected to know. This goes for first aid and driving as well. Shooting wasn't given much instruction time unless you showed you needed it.
