I know there are a lot of you guys out there waiting for things to open up and it seems like other agencies are starting to hire again as well. Just wanted to give you the heads up that Boca PD will be hiring again soon as well. I'm not sure if the official annoucement has been posted yet but you can go to the website download the paperwork and get your app in. Make sure that your testing, PAT, CJBAT, and TABE are up to date as your app won't be accepted without them. There will only be a few spots available so good luck to you all.

they only take BCC physical, they don't want the PBCC one.

also, you need to have an immaculate driving record. which is why I don't bother applying there.

You'll have to call our recruiting guys to findout about where they accepting testing scores from. I know we send our recruiter to the Broward academy but the department recently has hired people that were in the Palm Beach academy and I doubt they came down to broward just to test. Check with the recruiters just to be sure. As far as the driving record goes, I would imagine most agencies would want you to have a decent driving record. Crashes do happen and they'll fix the cars, but the cars do cost money and I'm sure any agency would like to try to avoid crashes if possible. The department starts everyone at the starting salary regardless of experience. I'd be happy to try to answer specific questions if anyone has any. Feel free to PM me. Good luck to all.

SJR, do you know how many they are looking for? I start the academy in about a month, should i apply? I'm sure once i start ill be too busy to go to the testings.

I believe there are 4 or 5 openings, and as for if you should apply...why not? If you're interested then do it, if not then you know what I'm saying. Good luck to you.

Well they just hired a few people back in December. It will be a while before they hire again. They usually hire once or twice a year. I would expect them to be hiring again around late spring to early summer.

We continue to hire so I would call and findout. Just hired someone to start the academy soon and picked up another from another department. So no, I wouldn't call it at joke at all. We may still be hiring, just check with the recruiters.
