Starting Polk Sheriff Academy, any advice or input?

Wondering what to expect and any tips or hints. We are going through the dual academy.

Pay attention, keep your mouth closed and give 110% and you will do awsome. Remember that every day at the acdemy is a working day and people are watching you and evaluating how you do and will do. Act accordingly. Read my writing on the academy in my "So you want to be a cop?"

Wish I would have read and known all of that before starting the process 3 months ago! The only difference that I noticed is that we had to take the FBAT if we did not have a 4 year college degree. The last 3 months were some of the most stressful months in my life. Waiting to hear if I had past tests, interviewing with the Chief, background investigators popping up around every corner... all while being unemployed and putting other job opportunities off until I had heard my results. Thankfully out of over 700 applicants, I was one of 20 that was hired and is being sent to the academy. I know it will all be worth it in the end!
