I have worked with them on cases and associated with and trained many of thier officers. They have a great department and lots of chances for special occasion work and other things. I would even consider them myself if I was a young officer looking for a place to work.

Ive always wanted to work there and a friend of mine's uncle works there. He talked to him for me and he said that he can apply but they are usually looking for officers with experience or a little older. Im 24 so I understand, but it couldnt hurt to apply!

I put in the app and attached my resume, but it said that based on my responses to the questions I was not eligible? I'm guessing it's because I'm not certified, it did ask that. But I didn't see anything about needing to be certified in the job announcement, I may have missed it somewhere...

I'm in the process now with Gainesville PD otherwise I would take a look. I don't like shotgunning apps. with multiple departments.
Due to the Juvenile bickering and annoying trolling committed by members of this forum I have started an igore list. If your name is listed below I can't see you.

You must either be certified, or be 4-6 (or 8) weeks away from being certified. If you're not certified, the system will automatically DQ the application.

Good Question. Not too sure, you can call UPD HR at (352) 392-2880. If nothing else, you can always see if you are eligible for EOT for Florida Standards.

The best part is the free education for you and your kids. I plan on making the move when my kids are in middle school, so that they can have their pick of any state college in Florida. When I was in college one of the guys in my degree field got his education for free because his dad was a SFCC police officer.
