  • Broward County- white shirts vs green shirts

Forgive me if the answer is posted somewhere already.

I love watching Police Women of Broward County and I noticed Deputy Cooper sometimes wears white shirts and sometimes green shirts. Just wondering if there is a difference between the 2? Up here in the North, white usually is reserved for top brass but I know in Florida, its common for deputies to wear white.

In Broward County, Day and Afternoon Shift Deputies (Bravo, Charlie) wear White Tops, and Midnight shift (Alpha), they wear dark green.

correct me if i'm wrong but the white and green are also used as a summer/winter uniforms. summer is the white shirt and the green is used for winter times usually.

nope, whites are for day shift and greens are for midnights. Since the sun isn't a factor during mids the green shirt doesn't cause any problems and is more practical for nighttime use.

i stand corrected. and yes i was a police explorer for MDPD and we wore white uniform shirts, it was a pain to keep clean and i'm sure the deputies and officers have a hard time with that as well.

it was always white at the start of the shift, but after processing the first burglary the shirts look horrible.
