Orlando Hiring Freeze

Anyone hear about the hiring freeze? My recruiter just found out about it last week and she hasn't gotten back to me about how long its going to last. Anyone hear anything?

is that a hiring freeze for OPD or orlando area in general? because i know several depts in the orange county area are still hiring. i havent heard of anything

Hiring for certified or for sponsorship?

Sponsorship, however the whole city apparently is on a hiring free, but not the county. Hoping that its just on old till the new budget is proposed.

1. Is the hiring freeze still going on in Orlando?
2. Their website says they are taking apps for "sworn officer" does that mean you have to be certified or is this a entry position? (Im not certified and I'm wondering if i can apply for this position.)

Its a shame, so many hiring freezes and cuts for some. Seems like many departments are having to survive short handed.
