Best Police Departments to Work for in CT

Hey folks, new CT resident looking to transition into a sworn law enforcement role. With hiring the way it is right now it seems that a lot of departments are hurting for people. I have a well paying gig so I feel like that coupled with recruitment struggles I can be fairly more selective and take my time. I have a few buddies working at New Haven, Waterbury etc.. essentially big departments and its their goal to try and leave ASAP to neighboring departments so I figure its probably best to avoid large departments unless you guys care to share some opinions on that. There's probably more career opportunities at these larger departments but from what I gather from my buddies, its just not worth being paid less and having more stress. My question is what are the best departments to work for from a pay/quality of life perspective within the state of CT? Is it true the "fords" Guilford, Branford etc offer great pay and quality of life? I've tried looking this up myself but a lot of these recruitments sites look like they haven't been updated in years. Any advice would be appreciated!

I can see this is a rather old thread. But may I also have some insight on CT departments? I'm a sworn officer in the state of Georgia. I'd like to move closer to my family in NY but be apart of a department with good pay and affordable living (at least somewhat affordable).

Most departments have shifted, or are shifting away from pensions. Just keep that in mind

Pensions don't exist here in GA anyway from what i'm seeing. So i'm not surprised.
