Where you notified that you passed your Phsyc Interview? I had mine over a month ago and I haven't heard or received any notifications and it's concerning to see that mostly everyone else gets told that they passed within two weeks after their interview. Thanks in advance!

    Hurry up and wait.

The CHP Academy class that started way back last year and was put on hold mid-term because of the pandemic, was put on hold again last month due to the COVID resurgence. Their tentative return date was set for January 17th but with the way things are going, when they will actually come back to class is anyone's guess. The standing joke is they will get their one year step raise before they even graduate.

I suspect that due to COVID, any future hiring is going to be bogged down. The BI from GG Division is probably lurking around here somewhere and may have more.

Going too far is half the pleasure of not getting anywhere

Been a while since I've checked in here.

What you said is partially true. Cadets were sent home. However, they are currently completing LDs via on-line learning in subjects such as Spanish. Obviously this is less than ideal, but it is at least positive that the class is moving forward with their projected graduation date remaining.

The old adage of hurry up and wait certainly holds true today as it did yesterday. However, applicants must remain at the ready as a number of would-be cadets had to decline last minute offers to attend the current class because they became complacent and did not stay ready.

But, but, but..... Will these last minute offers be to attend telecommute classes and call cadence as they run around the block solo in their neighborhoods? Will the academy send alarm clocks to their homes that plays a recording of "We are the might CHP" when it goes off in the morning? (Sorry, just couldn't help myself.) Do they still play that as a wake up recording at the academy?

Does anyone know if the PELLETB written exam for CHP is similar to LAPD’s?

I can't give you an exact answer, but i'd assume it would be similar.

The PELLETB is written by POST, who provides it to the agencies that utilize it. They are the same test with variations depending on the current version.

I actually called CHU today to ask if I passed the psych oral but the guy I spoke too didn't tell me. He did mention that they were hoping to get the academy opened up again in the next week or 2. So hopefully they do.

CHP23 It has not in the traditional sense. The current class is completing LDs remotely. All CHP facilities state wide have re-opened to the public as have most other State departments. I would expect the Academy to follow soon.

Is the expected graduation date still July?

                Update:

                1) The cadets are back in-person as of this past Monday. They are still expected to graduate in July.

                2) CTC I-21 is schedule to start in August with 180 cadets

                3) CTC II-21 is scheduled to start in November with 180 cadets

                4) Going forward, classes will start every three months like the old days

                Get ready.

socalpdcadet - I am not sure as I don't work at the academy. They haven't had to shut down for quite a while now, so I can only assume that they are handling it.

Quick question to anyone who may know. I had an initial interview on March 1 and I'm scheduled for another tomorrow March 15, is this my final interview? I've seen other timelines where applicants had one or two things before the final interview?
