I haven't heard of anyone staying unwillingly for more then five years even during the dark days of VCSD. Back when I was a reserve the custody deputies were striking via the blue-flu I think mostly due to benefits and pay. That whole mess was fixed as far as I know.
Regular jail games aside your looking at two years most based on my observations and knowledge. And STAY AWAY FROM O'LEARY's BAR! It's a hangout not far from the jail that has been the doom of all too many new deputies.
The best and most up to date info you will get would be from a full time deputy during a ride-a-long.
