  • OCSD Reserve Deputy applicant requirements

    Good evening,

I am applying to be a reserve deputy with OCSD and have a question on the medical requirements. I am in backgrounds right now and have completed poly and medical. I received a letter stating they want to recheck my body fat and blood pressure. I know my blood pressure is good, as I am consistently 120/80. My concern is body fat. At home, I measure 19-21% on an electronic scale. I admit I am not ripped like a bodybuilder, but I am not a slob either. I am 5'9 173lbs with a 32" waist. I do moderate exercise 3-5 days a week and hike regularly. I am not worried about the physical requirements of sit-ups, push-ups and running. What I am most concerned with right now is what body fat percentage are they looking for? If 19-20 is acceptable, I will go in asap and get retested. If they require less than that, I have some work to do before getting tested again.

If anyone has a little bit of insight, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for your time.
