Parks are in isolated areas where the radios don't work..Neither does your cell phone. Parks are very busy during holidays so you will be working them.

Types of calls...drunks, car burglaries and body dumps.

Some of our deps went there because they thought the grass was greener....they are ALL back!

Job description....we call em the squirrel police. All good of course! Miss the rendevous at Starbucks in Castro Valley.

Oh yeah and WHEN you stumble across a mj grow...they will shoot at you!

This profession is not for people looking for positive reinforcement from the public. Very often it can be a thankless job and you can't desire accolades, because those are not usually forthcoming. Just do your job to the best of your ability and live with the decisions you've made.

To piggyback on DX2, the East Bay Regional Park System covers both Alameda's and Contra Costa's County Parks. These parks can range from bayside beaches to extreme rural foothills to urban "city" parks. They just recently had a couple of growers open up on an Officer because he found their grow. They are usually by themselves and they cover a lot of land.

They stay out of the news and off of people's radar.
