  • LASD Tactical Gear circa 2011

Just got this pic from a friend that still works at the department I retired from. It depicts one of our LASD brethren, wearing what appears to be their latest "issue" tactical holster. I had no idea the county's budget was so stretched!

That would actually be a violation of policy

Yup, must be in a holster that covers the trigger/trigger guard (to avoid any NDs in the pocket).

Wait a minute...Now that I've looked at the picture closer, since the deputy is wearing a BLACK shirt (also a policy violation regardless of unit), he is obviously a super secret ninja and is not subject to mere policy. At least the decocker/safety is down...

Actually, not a violation. Certain units are allowed to wear black shirts.

Really? Mr T just ripped the heck out of a certain special unit for wearing that exact shirt and the good old polo shirts.

Yes. Polo shirts have been out of policy for some time. Not black shirts (for certain units). Don't know what special unit you're talking about, but we wear them in front of him all the time. We've been wearing them for a long time.
