Richmond PD seems to always be hiring. I don't know if that's still considered "bay area" as it isn't my neck of the woods.Other officer: Oh that's right, I forgot, you're God's gift to police work.
Me: At least someone recognizes it.
Turns out basic police work isn't so hard, you just have to leave the station.

Blizz, Richmond is part of the SF Bay Area.
OPD laid off several officers within the last year or two. They rehired some, but most went to other agencies.
I believe SFPD is hiring. Santa Cruz is picking up SJPD guys because of San Jose's impending lay-offs... Like 200 officers by July 2011.semper destravit

SFPD is only hiring laterals from those are the current civil service list, not accepting applications at this time. We have one lateral class at the academy right now and another will start in July. We have some good lateral candidates from Oakland PD, San Jose PD, and San Diego PD.
We have hired 100+ laterals over the past several years. Excellent pay, lots of opportunities for advancement and promotions, variety of job assignments, 10 stations, airport, largest motor (solo) unit in Bay Area, mounted unit, full time SWAT teams, etc.
