Writing a deuce report...is there appropriate nomenclature/terminology for the "wake-up" botts dots that are being used to mark right shoulders now?
Other officer: Oh that's right, I forgot, you're God's gift to police work.
Me: At least someone recognizes it.

Turns out basic police work isn't so hard, you just have to leave the station.

    Botts dots
    Rumble strips

    Botts' dots:

Nonreflective raised pavement markers (also known as Botts' dots) are usually round, are white or yellow, and are frequently used on highways and interstates in lieu of painted lines. They are glued to the road surface with an epoxy and as such are not suitable in areas where snow plowing is conducted. They are usually made out of plastic or ceramic materials.

hey, just did a bit of research..."raised pavement markers" are the most common, I'm guessing if you were to describe the dots as large (white, yellow ) raised pavement markers there wouldnt be a problem.

      good question though
