OK, does this mean that the Dodgers are going to try and make there security force upscale, ie more training, or simply utilize more of their "Off-Duty" staff.....

In Bratton's interview he said he was comming as a consultant. The Dodgers stated that Bratton would be number two on their security staff. I do know that the last time I went to Dodger Stadium I saw very few security and no LEO's. I would hope Bratton would change that. And a question for any LAPD - Does LAPD still allow moonlghting? This would be a great gig if they did.

Beck and Villaraigos announced about two hours ago that there would be a "sea of [LAPD] blue" at future Dodger games. Nothing about whow that would be financed.

On duty guys are going to put on special detail in the parking lots and around the stadium at the costs of the citizens of LA, most of which don't give a rats *** about the dodgers.

They do have off duty guys in uniform inside the stadium BUT most of those guys are Metro Div and have been doing it for years, you have to be someone special to get an in for the off duty gigs and it's even harder to get one now that every cop in LA is trying to get off duty gigs right now. They need to double the amount of off duty cops inside and out, and pay off duty bike certified officers to be in the parking lots.

Add more lighting in the parking lots etc.

The problem here is the LA fans, these idiots were the same idiots burning cars and looting after the Lakers championship. Want a real solution to the problem? Move the Dodgers out of LA because the people of this city are too uncivilized to function among normal people.

I did like Beck's statement that Off-duty Ofcrs should be allowed to carry in the stadium...I also remember a few years back being assigned to go down there on bikes for opening day and writing drinkers before the game....one of those hey i know you are don't work bikes but since you are bike certified....

I think, and someone who knows about this please correct me if I am wrong, when there is a race at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana that the track must kick in money for extra LEO presence. If this is true, why shouldn't the Dodgers have to do the same for increased LEO for all the thugs that go to the games?

I agree 100%. L.A. has such a large population of people who are only one step up from monkeys. I have been to a couple Dodgers games over the years and I doubt I will ever go back. There are so many fat Mexicans with shaved heads and gang tats.... as a clean cut white guy I always stick out and I've never felt comfortable or safe there.

Look at the Raiders, every game in LA was like a riot, the tunnels of the coliseum would be covered in puke and blood after every game and a ton of cops would have ruined uniforms from having to pull apart fight after fight. Now in Oakland, the Raiders fans still suck but it isn't nearly as bad as it was here.

I say bring out the slammer vans to the stadium, anyone who is tossed or is too drunk actually gets booked for 647 and every single person who gets FI'd gets checked for warrants and booked. Have multiple cops assigned to each section instead of the unarmed stadium security that the thugs aren't afraid of. If you make it like a jail ward and have cops every where the normal people won't be afraid but the thug element may watch what they do a bit more.

As far as the wanding at the gates, I could have snuck in a bazooka the past few times I went in to the stadium with how lazily the security was acting.
