  • A question for Governor Brown

Why weren't you at the funeral today for the Cathedral City Police Officer killed in the line of duty earlier this week?

If I'm not mistaken the previous Govenor, Arnold, attended the services of every officer that died in the line of duty during his time as Governor...

Arnold did not attend the funeral services of one of our fallen in 2008.

Who went in his place? Did Harris show up and act like she supports LE?

He doesn't care about cops and is not going to run for re-election, so why bother?

He came as Governor elect to Chris Wilson's funeral, with Arnold.

When I worked with him during his second term, his policy was to attend the funerals of LEOs who were killed by another; not those killed in solo TAs. That was the policy for Arnold as well. Also, FFs who were killed while fighting a fire. Believe it or not, Brown is pro LEO.

                SgtCHP, you are very correct.

Like or dislike Jerry Brown, when he was previously Governor, Brown enacted hundreds of tough anti-crime measures, including the “Use A Gun Go To Prison” Law and mandatory sentences for rape, sale of heroin, violent crimes against the elderly, child molestation and selling PCP.

He established and funded the Career Criminal Prosecution Program, the Career Criminal Apprehension Program and the Crime Resistance Task Force. As a result, the percentage of convicted felons who were sent to state prison increased 100% during his governorship. Recidivism (parolees returning to prison) was a fraction of what it is today.

And the biggest benefit we retirees see, is that as Governor, he enacted the collective bargaining right for public employees
