  • Scandal in San Berdo Sheriff'sDept.

Read a article in my local paper today, the San Bernadino DA is going to give a news conference at 1130 today regarding a investigation by POST that alleges that numerous SBSO Deputies submitted false documents to give them unjustified pay increases..

The article indicated Grand Jury indictments are forthcoming......

Hmmmmm......sounds like they were fibbing on their 'training and education' requirements for their Intermediate and Advanced POST certs......

Unlike one of our O.com members who got all butt-hurt when negative comments were made about his former, moronic partner, I won't stick up for these fools. If it turns out that they have purposely defrauded this department by falsely claiming to have education they don't have, I hope they are fired and charges are filed. This is a theft, just like any common thief would commit. Being that I have surely worked with these Deps at some point, I am disgusted and embarrassed.

That would be too funny if that turns out to be the case. I say that because it takes no effort but time on job to advance. So would they be lying about degrees and such to cut down the time?

                    Seven Sheriff's employees indicted

                    Created: 03/08/2011 10:38:57 AM PST

SAN BERNARDIN0 - Seven San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department employees have been indicted in a scandal involving the falsification of documents that were submitted to the state Commission on Peace Officers Standards and Training.
Six of the defendants appeared in Superior Court this morning for arraignment. They were: former Sheriff's Capt. Hobart Gray, his wife and former sheriff's training specialist Angela Gray, retired Assistant Sheriff Michael Stodelle, Lt. Russell Wilke, training specialist Sally Ann Christian, and Deputy David Pichotta.

Retired sheriff's Lt. Bill Maddox failed to appear, and Judge Michael Dest ordered that a warrant be issued for his arrest if he does not appear in court on Friday for his arraignment.
Dest granted Christian's request to continue her arraignment until Friday. The five other defendants all pleaded not guilty. Dest also announced the release of the indictments and determined that each of the defendants was not a flight risk, therefore granting each of their requests to remain out of custody on their own recognizance.
Neither the court, sheriff's officials nor the District Attorney's Office would say what the defendants have been charged with. Susan Mickey, spokeswoman for the District Attorney's Office, said she would not disclose any information until a scheduled 11:30 a.m. news conference at the District Attorney's Office.

Top county officials who chose not to be identified said the case entails training documents that

were falsified, then submitted by Angela Gray to the state commission, or POST, which enabled rank and file deputies to receive unjustified pay raises over a period of years.
Hobart Gray, who goes by the name "Bart," was captain of the sheriff's Yucaipa station. He retired last year.

Wilke had also been assigned to the Yucaipa station during Gray's command.

Angela Gray was hired in 1991 as a custody assistant in the jails. She was promoted to training specialist in 1997. Last year, when allegations of malfeasance surfaced and a Grand Jury investigation launched, she was demoted to her previous position as custody specialist and assigned detail at the Central Detention Center in San Bernardino.

                        Amen!

It doesn't matter if you are retired or currently employed.....when did we throw away the honor and integrity?

Prolly thought they could get over on the system...

For those who know right from wrong and the thought of straying is unfathomable..you are my brothers and sistahs whom I trust my life with. There is a fine line that separates us from them.

For the others.....cross the line and you are forever a peep! Become a peep and you have nothing coming! You are now...one of them!

In CAlee, we are paid very well...Capts in our dept make more than $12K a month...there is no reason for this type of behavior other than plain greed. Hell...I make more $$ retired than most people get paid to work. Don't live above your means!

Curious to see what happens...the retired peeps..are they untouchable? The remaining peeps..should be terminated. All should be held to answer.

Does that include drinking and driving, slapping your wife during a domestic dispute, hitting a downed suspect a few times after you chased him for over 3 miles on a high speed chase, having illegal tint on your P.O.V, or driving while on the cell phone.....these are also violations of the law yet a lot of cops violate these laws on a regular bases.

Dude one day you might get popped for DUI after having one too many drinks at a bar with your buddies...... a mistake anyone of us can make.....would you want your co-workers to treat you the same way as you suggested....probably not. What these individuals allegedly did is not right but don't be too quick to judge.......anyone can find themselves in the hot seat real easy.

Lets hope for the best for these individuals and lets not judge anyone until we know the facts.....

Let's start out on the right foot......it's ma'am!

WE know the law because we enforce it. Knowing right from wrong is a trait that is learned at a young age. If you knowingly do something wrong ...AND get caught..then suffer the consequences like everyone else.

We are not above anyone as we are human. Striking a downed peep is the inability to control your actions. IA will be all over you and perhaps you shouldn't be in LE in the first place! Does it happen?? You bet.

We had a Dep take money off a dead person...guess what his reason was? He needed the money. Bull sheeot. If you're dirty...you are dirty. If you lie you lie..if you falsify documents...it's perjury. Anyway you look at it..you're not credible and if you're not credible...sheeot runs downhill....a huge liability!

The choice is yours! Choose wisely!

Now...with that WHO here stands shoulder to shoulder with me?
