  • South Bay agencies

I'm new to the forum with no law enforcement experience. I know times are hard for everyone who's looking for law enforcement jobs. I know a few cops, some are friends of mine. But, my question is, which south bay agency has a reputation of hiring people like myself with no experience? I heard that you have to know someone on the department to get hired by Torrence PD.

I live in the City of Torrence so I would like to be hired by an agency not to far from home. Are there agencies in the south bay area to stay away from? I only ask that question because I heard about low moral agencies or agencies with a bad reputation and I don't want to be apart of an agency with that reputation. I am willing to wait for the right opportunity for me, fortunately, I'm in a position where I can wait for the agency that I think will better fit me.

I'm think Gardena PD would be a good place to work for; they seem like a tight family type dept. Morale seems to be at a high, and they are still hiring.

A few El Camino College officers end up laterally transfering to GPD, and they have a couple of current ECCPD officers (Sgt's?) on GPD's Entry team.
