What powers does a deputy that took the PC 832 class vs the full POST academy have and doesn't have?

No problem. Just remember to enjoy yourself when you are out there, patrolling in the middle of nowhere.

I thought maybe some members on here are SDSD reserves that would be able to shed some light about being on the ORET

Why don't you speak with a Reserve Coordinator at the SO and find out?

thanks for the info...so they don't patrol the other offroad areas in SD county?

I have been to that link before but it doesn't really give you any info.

Off-road enforcement is usually just special details out in Ocotillo, I'm not sure how often they are out there. I know they have a big detail during the Thanksgiving weekend, and all those 3-day weekends in January/February.

    Here's the link:

    San Diego Sheriff Reserve questions

As a reserve are you automatically put in the offroad enforcement team or do you have to serve as a regular patrol deputy first?

As a offroad enforcement deputy what areas do you patrol?

    thanks,
    Andy
