  • Ben Clark Public Training Center. Anyone?

I came across this yesterday, and I have been out here in the I.E. or the last 2 years. Anyone attending there currently? If so post up and share your thoughts on it. It does say it is a Training center, I'm guessing like Rio Hondo. Also you can get P.O.S.T. Certified. It is partners with Riverside County Sheriffs, C.D.F., Riverside County Fire Department, and the California Highway Patrol.
It serves as a Fire Academy as well as a Police Academy. My question is, if you attend this Academy, and you graduate and are P.O.S.T. Certified, do you have to go to the CHP Academy as well, since this academy is partners with the CHP?

    Thanks

EVERYONE has to go through the CHP Academy as a Cadet. They do not accept laterals or other P.O.S.T certificates so the answer to your question is yes.

You are lucky you asked that question here and not at chpforums.com

Like crossfit said, for CHP you have to go through their academy which I believe is in Sacramento. BCTC is where Riverside County runs its academy, along with Cal Fire and their academy. CHP has a training facility there, but not an academy. Riverside County Sheriff runs a POST academy there, and you can sign up pre-service and get your POST.

      Hope this helps.

They offer a lot of POST classes for dispatchers there as well.
