Has anyone seen this vehicle - CVC 27605

I spotted this Mustang earlier this morning on the 10 west, just west of Atlantic Blvd. What caught my was the black and white color scheme and thought "Wow, CHP has a new patrol unit?" I drove a little closer for a look and noticed the doors read "MUSTANG" and what appeared to be a police insignia on the front fenders.

I took a snap shot of the Mustang but when I later googled the plates (35TH6ER), it came back with several photos, Mustang forum and his myspace. Check it out:







According to his myspace, he's 22 and a graduate of ELAC's Admin of Justice. Maybe he thinks he's a cop because he has an AJ degree.

Are you kidding me. I usually attend car shows around southern california. That looks nothing like a cop car. The guy driving around in his 06 Mustang that says saleen,the transformers "to punish and enslave" and has fake low profile roof lights.. That guys car looks like a cop car. This guy looks like he as a fan of transformers but didnt have the cash to go all out.
As a matter of fact I bet you that over his rear wheel well it says
To punish and enslave..


This is the car from the show and his is almost identical..missing a few things like front numbers and stuff like that but almost identical

As the post title indicates, this is illegal,

Cal Veh Code 27605:

27605. No person shall own or operate a motor vehicle painted in
the manner described in Section 40800 to resemble a motor vehicle
used by a peace officer or traffic officer on duty for the primary
purpose of enforcing the provisions of Division 10 (commencing with
Section 20000) or Division 11 (commencing with Section 21000)
pursuant to Section 40800.
The provisions of this section shall not apply to vehicles which
are painted one solid color or to vehicles first registered on or
before January 1, 1979. These provisions shall not apply to vehicles
which are any of the following:
(a) Owned by vehicle manufacturers or dealers.
(b) Used by law enforcement agencies in the enforcement of the
provisions of Division 10 (commencing with Section 20000) or Division
11 (commencing with Section 21000).
(c) Owned by persons or companies who use the vehicles exclusively
for movie or television production and display signs stating "movie
car" prominently on the doors.
(d) Owned by persons or companies who use the vehicles exclusively
for funeral escort purposes.
(e) Motorcycles, as defined in Section 400, without insignia.

Certainly does not fall within the "Exceptions"

It is good to go for a violation of the intent of the section and by definition.

yeah, i saw a post/newsfeed or something for the this car a few years ago when the first transformers came out. It was out of Vegas and Nevada had ruled that he was allowed to keep the car the way it was...i don't know about now.
