    Yep.................
Never give in--never, never, never, never, in nothing great or small, large or petty, never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.

The answer I think is subjective. I would bet my bottom dollar that most 13 y/o's could probably teach me quite alot about computers and all the modern technology that my generation missed.
I wouldn't say they are any dumber now than some of the goofs I went to school with.
I try to sit back and imagine what its like to be a teenager is this technological age. The types of stimulation they have at their fingertips at any given moment. On demand porn, violence, and directions to do just about anything you can think of under the sun by simply going to google.
I don't think kids make good decisions these days. They don't think about the future, or grasp that once something hits the net its their forever and sure as heck someone will find it 20 years later when you are applying for that job or running for office or whatever.
I have 3 pre-teen boys right now, and I'm telling you it scares the heck out of me. I have to really try to keep abreast with facebook, myspace twitter and all that other dopey stuff. Not because I care the least about it personally but I feel I need to know about this stuff because I'm quite sure my boys will know all about it when they get older.

I think it's basic evolution, only backwards. Kids today have no respect for anyone or anything. Just look at the videos of the skaters picking fights with property owners when being told to leave. But, then again look at their parents. How do you expect a kid to act right with crack head parents?

Good parents are afraid to discipline their kids because CPS, DPSS and all the other useless acronym agencies will have them locked up. So, you basically have anarchy at the home and we are called in to play parent.

Then you have the hippie, dope smoking teachers that fill their brains with garbage. Don't get me started on that one.

That reminds me of one of my daughter's teachers. If you walk into class with gum, you have to give the teacher a quarter. If you don't give him the quarter, you will either have to give him 2 quarters the next day, or get a lower grade. So in fear of getting a lower grade and possibly failing, he gets his quarter. Since robbery is taking property from another via force or fear, would that mean he's committing a felony???? Hmmmmm. I'll have to wait til it comes up with my kid.
God made perfect cops.......The rest he put in cars.

I'll wait til it happens to my kid and take care of it then. I know it's only a quarter, but also the grade part gets me. That could screw someone's college prospects.

The accessibility to much harder drugs or prescription abuse or downright marker/glue sniffing. The violence, sex, alcohol abuse depicted in popular media teaches them how adults live.

Parents don't care anymore because they were taught to think selfishly. Divorce rate is skyrocketing because it's easier to take off then stay and work things out. And if they do stay, it's a 273.5.

I'm scared to death to get married and have kids. The world is just too friggin nuts.

I would say so, but then again our parents probably thought the same thing about our generation.

I thought my teenager was going south for good....then he joined the Army and really has his head screwed on straight for the first time since he turned 13! That's what this age's teens need.....military service.
