Academy Graduate Hiring

Hello all,

I asked recently about California Lateral requirements. Thanks for all your replies. Now I'm curious about the Academy Graduate program that several departments offer. I'll be calling recruiters tomorrow for further explanation but thought I'd ask on here as well.

It looks like some departments will take someone who has recently completed an academy and hire them without putting them through another academy. This seems to apply even to officers from out of state if they have a POST waiver (which doesn't seem too complicated to obtain.)

I've looked online and found a few departments that hire graduates but there's hundreds of agencies and I'm certainly missing some. At this point I'm open to anything. Is anyone aware of other departments that may hire someone who's recently completed an academy. Even if it's a university, harbor police, transit, etc.

Most departments that hire Academy grads are hiring people that have self sponsered through a California Academy. As for a POST waiver, most agencies at least in SoCal won't accept them.
