  • LAPD Process

I just started my LAPD process anybody going through the process wish to share some tips. Does anybody know when the upcoming classes are or how often they are running them?

New classes start EVERY 28 days the last one just started yesterday, next one will start on Sept 15th. The process will take from a few months to a few years depending on how your background is and results of your tests. Good luck.

took my pqe exam on Saturday, i think i did pretty good..i was surprise to see how some people dress for a test for law enforcement.. anyways afterwards i received my packet for physical test and initial background interview.. physical test is this coming sunday, hopefully i can make cause of work.. and my initial background interview is schedule for sep. 2nd.. things seem to be moving really fast...the recruiter spoke to me after i got done and talked to me and told me backgrounds are taking about 2-5 months right now .. im in no real hurry and i'd be happy if they take 5 months, i want to finish this coming semester in college so i can receive my AA and get into law enforcement or transfer to a 4 year... in the meantime im just making sure im ready physically for the academy... hope to hear from more people going through the process..

I just took the PQE this past Saturday. Will be meeting with the BI on the 3rd I believe and then the PAT on the 7th. Assuming that I passed the PQE though. Let's cross our fingers!

Depends on your background. If your background is good they will schedule you for the polygraph that day.

                        Whats up guys,

I did the Expedited Testing during the first week of July; PQE, PBI, POLY, PAT, Department Interview, Written Psych.

All my references have turned in their letters and I'm currently in Backgrounds. Things are definitley moving pretty quick. The BI's will move as fast as you can. If you can get all the required documents and have the reference letters turned in quick, things will go smoothly.

Good Luck to the rest of you guys.

It is Attitude, not circumstance, that makes Success possible even in the most unlikely conditions.

Did PQE, think I did okay (75, thought it would be higher). Initial Background and PAT (part 1) coming up. Having moved as much as I did since 15, that background packet took a few hours lol..

My BI said that background should only take about a month, but that was four months ago. I would be mad or something but I had the whole CA thing going for me so I'm not in a hurry.

I had the same thing with the PQE, I got a 75 and I have a college degree.... go figure!
