As far as this goes, the answer is no.

In terms of training, DPS does offer alot of training, but we also attend trainings from other agencies as well, heck, half of my DUI training/HGN certification was through Phoenix PD.

AzDPS has a set amount that each officer/employee may use towards education. I think it is around $1000 per year or so. This can be used for regular educational pursuits or L/E training with approval. There is no ay incentive for 2 or 4 year degrees. There are, however, point systems for promotions and degrees will increase your points as will other training. Also, since AZ DPS is tasked with assisting all the smaller agencies in AZ it provides alot of specialized training around the state that most departments have to pay for. It is easier for DPS officers to find seats in those classes since the instructors are DPS or DPS affiliated.

I know DPS only paysd a portion of job related education after your are hired and only with command permission. But that includes tactical, firearms, legal, DRE, and police related things not offered at regular colleges or universities.
