Why bother. Military is exempt from needing an instate license. Just renew it online or through the mail with NE. Keep things simple and have the car, insurance, license, tax records, permanent address in NE.
Otherwise you get into all kinds of things about changing residency and filing partial-year tax returns... a duty station is just a temporary assignment, and not a change in residency.
I bet NE is cheaper anyhow as far as license plate fees, but fyi - military are exempt from paying the VLT (tax) portion of the plate fees here. I bet it'd still run +-170 for tags, and then the MVD will want proof of AZ insurance sent to them within 30 days. That's the part that will cost you.Last edited by JI603; 09-05-2009, 01:24 PM.
